If you haven't all the things you want, be grateful for the things you DON'T have that you WOULDN'T want.
*************
When I asked Jackson if he understood the above quote (since he is sitting here with his chin rested on my shoulder, reading every word I type) he said, "yeah, like if you don't have something you want, at least you can be glad you don't have a million tarantulas living in your house." I think that's a good way to put it, don't you?
I am so grateful for lazy, restful, play-all-day days. Today is snowy and cold, and who wants to go out in that, besides my kids... who already did? We read a book and talked to Grandpa on the phone. We spent about 2 hours dancing to Alan Jackson music and 50's Rock-n-Roll. The kids took turns playing the game where I lift them high in the air with my legs and they fly... and then they flip. We played our favorite game, "Hullabaloo". We had a yummy breakfast and then leftovers for every other meal and didn't do a single bit of work. It was so nice to just spend time with the kids doing nothing. Have you done that lately? Sometimes I get so caught up in all the things I HAVE to do, that I forget about what things are MOST important to do. Remembering all of my blessings helps me to keep my priorities straight. Note to readers: Lack of housework for an entire day may make life harder tomorrow. Oh well! Love it!
Also, as I thought about how I could be on day 20 of being grateful, when Thanksgiving is still 12 days away, I remembered that I STARTED one month from Thanksgiving, in a month with 31 days. So, starting with the 26th of October, and ending on the 26th of November, actually gives me 32 days of gratitude - hence the title being changed to 32 days of Gratitude. :)

Mom noticed immediately that you didn't post anything on the 13th. If you skip every other day, you will be past Thanksgiving by the time your 30 days is up. We laughed and laughed at Jackson's tarantula example. Leave it to him to put in layman's terms!
BTW, the chowder was delicious (once Mom finished doctoring it).
I should mention that I had forgotten to add the vinegar. Once we added that, ooooooo!
I am SOOOOO GRATEFUL I DON'T HAVE A MILLION TARANTULAS at my house!! Man, oh, man I am grateful!!! It is a HAPPY DAY!!!
Thanks, Miss Emily and Mr. Jackson! Love, Jane
