Oh, the joys of being five!!

Well, today was a fun day! We had 16 little girls at our house for Natalie's birthday party. And, of course, as all you mothers know... now that it's over we can start counting down the days 'til the next birthday! :)

All the girls just hanging out and anxiously awaiting all of the other guests.
You can never go wrong with Barbie!

Does she look happy to be 5?
Those dolls you buy at a craft store for these cakes are $5 each - so I just bought the cheapest $5 Barbie at Wal-mart and made a bigger hole for the legs. That way it is a cake and a gift at the same time!! I had to clean her really good afterwards, though!
I just wanted to add a little about these suckers I put in the girls' goody bags. I got the idea on my cousin Michelle's blog (she made them heart shaped for Valentine's Day). You basically just get a "cookie on a stick" cookie sheet at a craft store and melt 5 Lifesaver Creamsavers (I used strawberry and cream) in each shape at 250 degrees for about 8 or 10 minutes. Then take them out and put in the stick (I used long sticks so they would look more like little wands) and add 5 more creamsavers to cover the stick. Put back in the oven until they are all melted. When you get them out of oven it works best to take the mold and put it in ice water, or the freezer so they cool quickly. Once they are cool they will pop right out - but don't try and take them out before they are cool. Cute and easy!

Five years ago on this day...

Sweet little Natalie joined our family!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEETIE!
Here she is only about a week old with her new family

2 years old

Natalie was our little peanut. She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was only about 18 inches long. She is such a joy to so many people, and is constantly hugging and kissing people (even people in our ward that she only recognizes!) Of course, you probably all know that she loves to dance! She is constantly dancing and singing! The following video was taken about 2 years ago at Disneyland. She had just turned 3 years old. I was a dork and turned the camera sideways during taping it (duh!) so you will have to tilt your head - but it basically SUMS up Natalie's personality!!

Validation

For some reason I can't get this video to upload... so you'll just have to click on the link below and watch it on youtube. Maybe I've forgotten how to do it right. Anyway, I just watched this video on my dear friend Anna's blog. It is TOTALLY worth watching. It will make you laugh, and it even made me cry. It is about 15 minutes long, so make sure you have time to watch before you do. Trust me. Watch it!

My Girls' Favorite Show... Seriously!

A Child's View of Things...

Every time I grab my camera I find that Natalie has been taking pictures. I have about a hundred pictures that she has taken of things from her point of view. Remember film? I would be a little more mad in those days. Now, it's just funny.

How Odd

I have been know to play a few computer games. I don't really do much, and I try not to get into games that I can't finish within a few minutes. I have always liked solitaire. I played it wish real cards in the "olden days", but I never got a game like this! I always play Vegas style and win a lot that way - but this game was impossible to win. I have never seen anything like it. Can you see what is wrong with this picture? I should have won!
