My Canadian Friend!!

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to see Christa Kickbush, a girl that I taught and baptized on my mission! It has been 12 years next month since she was baptized, and she has since been married in the temple to a returned missionary and they have 3 little girls about the same age as my kids. It was soooo good to see her! I visited her about 8 years ago for only about an hour when Geoff and I went up to Victoria, B.C. on vacation, but this time I made sure to get in enough time to catch up! Christa came to Salt Lake for a week long training seminar for the midwifery school she is attending right now. I picked her up last Sunday (June 1st) and brought her back to Layton to have dinner with me and my family. We were able to have a nice visit for several hours. By the end of the night my kids had become completely attached to her. She is such a sweet and fun person!
Then last night (June 6th) I went back down to Salt Lake and picked up Christa and one of her friends from her ward in B.C. who is also going to be a midwife, and the three of us went out to dinner and then to the Salt Lake temple to do a session. It was such a special thing for me to go to the temple with someone I taught the gospel to. I now have an even better idea of why the Lord says if we labor all our days, and bring, save it be, one soul unto Him, how great shall be our joy! I just wanted to tell everyone at the temple about what a cool thing this was! I also was able to find out from Christa about another woman I met while tracting on my mission, Wendi, who I knew was baptized, but I had lost contact with her. Christa told me that she was in the Relief Society presidency and had been through the temple and everything. I can't wait to get back in contact with her! It was an awesome week!

I love how temples look at night! Especially this one!!
