Yesterday my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Deon were in town from Mesa for a funeral. They were so sweet to come visit us for a couple of hours. My kids were really excited to have company too! Natalie knows Lisa as "Alyssa's Grandma" (Alyssa is my cousin Sara's little girl who is just a few weeks older than Natalie, and one of her best friends). All day she was saying "when is Grandma Lisa going to be here?" It was fun to visit with them for a little while. I miss all of my Arizona family!

Also, just as a little thought for the day:

"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it."

John Adams
Doesn't that quote almost bring you to tears? Geoff and I just finished watching the HBO miniseries "John Adams", and I am sure that is why that quote brings out the emotions in me. I just fell in love with John Adams while watching this history. Oh, by the way, don't ask me why we have HBO, we have the $2 a month add on to our internet bill that basically gets us a clearer picture on our local channels, and then 5 other channels including the BYU Channel and HBO...talk about an oxymoron. I don't know. Anyway, this 7 part series really showed the sacrifices these founding Fathers made on our behalf. I wish we all could have the same love for this country that these men and women did. Everything they did and sacrificed was for the well-being of future generations. I am so grateful for all those who have given so much for our freedoms.

I SO wanted to see the HBO show on John Adams, but I didn't know anyone who had HBO. Had I known, I would have asked you to tape it. Oh well, I am glad it moved you.
