A Fall Day!

We had too many leaves! We don't even have a tree in our backyard, but we enjoy our neighbor's shady tree all summer, so it is only fair that we rake the leaves... I kept telling myself that anyway. With the way the wind blows, we had many more leaves in our yard than they did in theirs! These leaves all fell in pretty much one day - and it rained at the same time, so they were really heavy! We had the kids help us with the raking, so it only ended up taking about 5 hours to do the front and back yard!!

Here is just a glimpse of the mess!

We used all kinds of tools to do the "raking"

Jackson was a really good sport even when he was tired of helping!

Natalie took some time out for a photo shoot. She is always ready to pose for the camera!
And poor Staci took a pretty hard fall and came up with scraped up nose, lip, cheek and forehead. I am just glad this fall didn't involve a trip to the E.R!

Showing off the work we did!! 28 Bags stuffed completely to their limit with leaves!! We could have probably done at least one more, but we ran out of bags!
The line between our yard and the neighbors with the trees. The sad thing is they don't ever rake, and tomorrow is supposed to be windy, so we will have more leaves! Fall is no longer my favorite season of the year... OK, maybe it still is!!

28 BAGS! Whew! That is a LOT of leaves! One nice thing about having no trees in our back yard is not having to rake leaves--but I think I'd rather have trees! Your kids are such happy helpers, and my kids could take a lesson from them:)

What a fun family project, though! That's the kind of work that is fun, too. Not that I envy you, and would probably be annoyed with my neighbors, too...but still. It was a good time with the kids, right? :) Natalie looks so much like you, or at least like a Brooksby for sure!

Em. Now that is a workout! It looks like you have a fun backyard though. One year in Mississippi two boys came by with rakes and said they would rake my yard for $10. I took them up on it. It wasn't a perfect job but so worth the ten bucks.

I love falling leaves. To rake up is a whole different story.

that lawn was always such a workout!!! It makes me happy though to see photos of it!!! (I'm sure your other blog readers are wondering why the heck I'm saying that... oh well, too bad.)
Good job! I hope you didn't go crazy the next day when it was windy!!! ;)
