...but we have squash coming out of our ears!!! Here is the latest pick from the garden...just today. I have to tell you when I got home from Arizona I was a little disappointed to see there was nothing really growing in my garden (except for weeds, of course). We had gone out back before we headed in the house ('cause the kids had a 12 hours trip in the car that day and headed straight for the swing set). Later that night I opened the fridge to find the entire thing filled with squash. Later I found a bag on my bathroom floor... accidentally left there by my father-in-law when he came to "check out our garden". He had picked all of that for us. One thing I have learned about a garden is that you can plant fewer zucchini plants than you think you need and you'll probably have enough. Also, zucchini will take over pretty much anything in it's way. It is fun, though.

Holy zuccinni! Yum I love it. I want to plant a garden and it looks like your the one to call! Glad you got home safe from AZ.
I planted 3 zucchini and yellow squash plants last year and am still eating the dehydrated vegetables I got. The big one's like in your photo's don't taste as good as if you catch them smaller but if you are out of town, what can you do. I had some like that last year the hid from me. I called them my baby squashes not because they are small, but because they were the size of babies!
I love gardening, I'm working with the square foot gardening foundation. I can get you a book if you would like.
Talk to you soon,
Nikki
Wow! That is a lot of zuccinni! I had heard about this story, but man, I can hardely believe my eyes! Love you sister! Bye!
Oops! I totally spelt zucchini wrong! I knew something looked weird!
Holy Moley!!! That is CRAZY! I wish I was there to have some delicious zucchini bread...and be with you!

WOW!! First I am so proud you have a garden - so impressive. Wish I had a green thumb. Brad always wants to plant one and I do nothing. And second...it's producing yummy food...WAY TO GO! That's amazing. I love zucchini - wish you were closer so you could share ;)
Thanks everyone for the comments - but I must tell you that the large squash doesn't taste as good as when you pick it smaller. I didn't know that either, but I have learned the hard way. Of course, being gone for almost a month, I didn't get it picked early... and then I found a bunch that were hiding under the plants. We just have TOOO many, and hardly anything else is growing. In the picture you can see one cucumber right in front, and we have had a few tomatoes, but that is about it!
Holy Cow! Those are huge. You should puree some of them and freeze them. Then you can add them to things you cook and you can't even taste them. I do it all the time. Them my kids are getting more veggies.
